Alan Tipper, BSc FIBC CMC FRAeS, AFRIN, Advisory Board Member

On retiring from STCP in 2002 he became a non-executive at Horton International, where he remained as Chairman UK until 2008. He is also Chairman of four small private Companies.

Professional

Alan Tipper's twentyfive years of Search experience with Heidrick & Struggles and Springman Tipper Campbell Partnership followed successful careers in general management and management consultancy.

Earlier as Resident, then Managing Consultant, with a major firm of management consultants, he undertook and directed assignments for substantial public companies and multinationals.

His acumen and experience were developed further through serving as a Director and General Manager in the manufacturing sector, where he was responsible for more than 1,000 staff. Additionally, his understanding of senior management matters derives in part from having served as a Director on the Board of a public company.

Background

Alan Tipper was educated at St Clement Danes and Queen Mary College, London University. He completed his National Service in the RAF and qualified as a pilot in jet aircraft. He maintains a Private Pilot's Licence. He is Fellow, Institute of Business Consultants; Chartered Management Consultant; Fellow, Royal Aeronautical Society; Associate Fellow, Royal Institute of Navigation; Liveryman, Guild of Air Pilots and Air Navigators; Freeman, City of London; Member of the Air League.

Specialisations

Top level appointments in blue-chip companies, international and non executive director Searches, with particular knowledge of aerospace, defence, pharmaceutical and other technology-based industries and service sectors.
