Professional
Charles Taylor has ten years experience in search,
following twenty-five years working in engineering
and IT. Ten years in manufacturing, largely in the
automotive sector and working throughout the world,
were followed by a period in international trading
in the electronics and agriculture sectors. Before
entering the recruitment industry, he was Managing
Director of a number of companies, both in the UK
and overseas, involved in electro-mechanical manufacture
and IT systems, the latter focusing on the use of
digital technology in broadcasting, communications
and information management.
Background
Charles Taylor was educated at Ipswich School,
took an Honours degree in Economics and Politics
at Exeter University, and subsequently studied engineering
at Wolverhampton Polytech. He won a scholarship
to Cranfield School of Management in 1979, where
he gained his MBA. He is a founder member of the
IT special interest group of the IOD.
Specialisations
Senior appointments across a range of industry
sectors, with special emphasis upon communications,
digital technology, logistics, engineering and retail.
He also works in the defence, aerospace and commercial
air transport sectors. Specialist functional areas
include board level general management, non-executive
directors, HR, procurement and supply chain.
