Michael Webster's 13 years in the Search industry
follows a successful career in engineering and information
technology, during which time he held a number of
senior management posts in the UK, Europe and Asia.
In 1978 he joined the UK's then largest computer
company where he spent six years, responsible for
managing the sales and support of products to City
of London based financial institutions.
In 1984 he was recruited by Reuters, the world's
largest financial information provider, spending
ten years in a variety of roles, latterly as Managing
Director of the trading room support division.
He became an executive search consultant, founding
his own practice in the City in 1994. Business specialisation
included major multinational groups and start-ups
across the full spectrum of management disciplines.
After continuous business expansion, his company
merged with Horton International, London in June
2004.
Background
Educated at St Andrews College in London, from
where he went on to study Business at the North
West Kent College of Technology. A management apprenticeship
was then successfully completed with the Chubb Lock
& Safe Company. He gained extensive experience in
man management initially through holding a commission
HM Forces and subsequently industry.

roles, with emphasis on leading edge technologies,
information technology, engineering, mining, petroleum
and financial services support industries.
