Peter Adams has over 30 years' experience as a
commercial lawyer predominantly in energy. He has
worked extensively at the top level of some of the
world's largest companies, both in the UK and abroad.
He spent 20 years working for Exxon as Corporate
and Company Lawyer. In 1991 he joined Associated
Gas Supplies Ltd to head the legal and regulatory
function, before being appointed a Director and
Secretary on the company's acquisition by Elf.
Background
Peter Adams was educated at Wellington College
and qualified from the College of Law. After qualification
he joined Esso and worked in most areas of oil,
petrol and gas law before joining the gas industry
at the time that independent gas companies first
emerged. He formed and chaired the industry association
and was for many years secretary of the City of
Westminster Law Society.
Specialisations
Senior legal appointments across a range of industry
sectors, with special emphasis upon energy, oil,
gas and power, and competition. He has particular
interests in Regulatory Policy issues and Renewable
Energy.
