New UK Chairman for Horton International

May 2008- London Horton International held its annual Global Partners’ meeting in Singapore between 25 - 27 April with 40 representatives from 21 countries in attendance, including Charles Taylor and Paul Butterworth from the UK office. Robin Billen (Australia), Horton International Chairman, led the meeting. Regional Directors from Europe, the Americas and Asia-Pacific all reported double digit revenue growth in their respective regions. It was announced that the following had been elected by the Partners to serve on the Board of Directors: Luigi Rossi (Italy), Regional Director, Europe Larry Brown (USA), Director Charles Taylor (UK), Director Others continuing to serve on the Board include: Robin Billen (Australia), Chairman Robert Gilchrist (USA), Regional Director, Americas Robert Lo (China), Regional Director, Asia-Pacific The highlights of the conference were a presentation and discussion on the branding and marketing of the firm, and the continuing development and growth of global industry groups. Brian Buchan, a retired Proctor and Gamble executive, presented his findings on the retained search industry and helped the group develop a strategy to improve global branding.

New UK Chairman for Horton International

May 2008 - London Horton International is delighted to announce that following the retirement of Alan Tipper as Chairman of the UK Board of Horton International, David Longbottom has accepted the invitation to take up the position of Chairman. Alan Tipper will remain on the Board as a Non-Executive Director. Prior to joining the UK Advisory Board of Horton International, David was Group Director of Human Resources for the Dixons Group plc, (DSGi) a main Board position to which he was appointed in 2002. Prior to that, he held a number of other positions within Dixons, including Sales Director and Deputy Managing Director of Currys. David brings a wealth of commercial HR experience from his earlier roles with Lloyds of London, Courtaulds plc and British Gas. David is Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of the Board of London South Bank University. He is also a Non-Executive Director of Flybe, where he is Chairman of the Remuneration Committee. He is an Associate Member of the Royal College of Science, and a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Personnel & Development. Commenting on the appointment, out-going Chairman Alan Tipper said, "I am delighted that David Longbottom has accepted the invitation to take over from me as Chairman of the Horton International Board in the UK. I have thoroughly enjoyed my five years and have seen our representation in the UK go from strength to strength. I am confident that David will guide the firm to even greater success and I look forward to continuing my involvement as a Non-Executive Board Member."

Horton International Moves to New Offices in London, UK

April 2008, London Horton International today announced that due to an expansion of the UK office consultancy team, it has relocated to larger offices. Charles Taylor, Director said that "the move to larger premises, reflects our strong performance over the last year and demonstrates our continued desire to expand the Horton International brand and ethos in the UK search market." The new offices were officially opened by the Horton International Group Chairman, Robin Billen, during his recent visit to London. Robin, based in Horton's Australia office in Melbourne, said, "I am delighted to officially open the new offices of Horton International in the UK. As one of the Group founding partners, the UK team has been at the forefront of Horton's expansion. The new facilities in London will allow Horton to continue to develop in the future."

Horton International UK Raises Money for Prostate Cancer Research Centre

July 2007, London The London office of Horton International ran for charity in the JP Morgan Chase Corporate Challenge, now in its 31st year and covered 5.6km (3.5mile) in Battersea Park, London. Team Captain, Susanne Just said “this was a great effort by the team and putting finishing together ahead of individual timings, we completed the course together, crossing the line in 39 minutes”. This was the first time that Horton International has entered the competition which saw 12,930 participants from 302 companies take part on a warm summer’s evening. In all, just under £1000 has been raised so far for The Prostate Cancer Research Centre. This charity funds one of three Centres of Excellence in the UK supported by the National Cancer Research Institute, carrying out research into the causes of and treatment for the UK’s most frequently diagnosed male cancer. Horton International UK announces Paul Butterworth as new Director

May 2007, London Horton International UK is delighted to announce that, with effect from 21st May 2007, Paul Butterworth has joined the Board of Horton Consulting Services Ltd as a Director of that company. Paul specializes in high level executive search within defence/aerospace, retail and construction. He is also the London office lead consultant for maritime and shipping assignments.


New Partner for Horton International Helsinki Team

January 2007, Helsinki Ms. Ani Närhi will join Horton International Helsinki Team as a new partner in February 2007. She has a background in HR consulting: recruitment, personality assessment, leadership development and coaching for nine years as a partner in one of the leading Finnish HR consulting companies, Psycon. She has also acted as a customer director and a member of the management team for this 90-person firm which has offices in five major cities in Finland. Before that she was a practising Sport Psychologist for eight years. Ms. Närhi is a licensed Psychologist and has a Master’s degree in Psychology from the Helsinki University. She also holds a Master’s degree in Education from Northern Illinois University, US.

Horton International Launches its New Office in Moscow

November 2006, Moscow Horton International has announced the opening of its Moscow office, on November 1, 2006. It is the first Horton office in the CIS area, bringing the total number of established offices worldwide to 40.

John Slater, Director for Europe, commented: “With the growing number of multinational businesses establishing themselves Russia the demand for our services has been accelerating as our clients seek to appoint Russian nationals into senior management positions. This applies both in start-up situations and in established operations where a client wishes to replace ex-patriot managers.”

The Moscow office will be headed by Andrei Philippov. Andrei has conducted executive search for 8 years across many sectors including; FMCG, Consumer Electronics & Domestic Appliances, Financial Services, Retail, Audit & Consulting, IT & Telecom, Pharmaceuticals, Medical Products, Automotive, Minerals & Raw Materials. London Office Defence Practice Attend City Banquet

October 2006, London Three members of Horton International’s Aerospace & Defence Practice and their guests attended the annual Guild of Air Pilots and Air Navigators Banquet in the City of London’s famous Guildhall. Alan Tipper, Charles Taylor and Paul Butterworth were accompanied by Admiral Sir Alan West (former First Sea Lord and Chief of the Naval Staff, now Chairman of QinetiQ’s Defence Advisory Board), Air Chief Marshal Sir Brian Burridge (former Chief of the Air Staff, now Senior Adviser to Finmeccanica) and Trevor Sidebottom (Managing Director of Farnborough International).

As the home of the City of London, Guildhall has been the centre of City government since the Middle Ages. The present Guildhall was begun in 1411 and, having survived both the Great Fire of London and the Blitz, it is the only secular stone structure dating from before 1666 still standing in the City. The Great Hall is the third largest civic hall in England, where Royalty and State visitors have been entertained down the centuries.

The guest speaker was Lord Stevens, former Metropolitan Police Commissioner and also present was the astronaut Neil Armstrong who was presented with the Guild Award of Honour for his outstanding lifetime contribution to aviation. Commenting on the evening, Alan Tipper said, “this year’s GAPAN Banquet was one of the most memorable ever. The presence of the first man to walk on the moon shows the importance and standing of the Guild in the global aviation industry.”

European Regional Meeting

October 2006, Naples The London Office of Horton International was well represented at the annual European Regional Meeting this year held in Naples. John Slater, European Regional Director was accompanied by Charles Taylor and Paul Butterworth at the conference organized by Horton’s Italian team. Apart from business conducted during the days in the open forums and syndicate groups, representatives from thirteen nations enjoyed an evening’s dinner cruise around the Bay of Naples, which coincided with the city’s annual ‘White Night’ celebrations and festival.

Horton International US Expansion

September 2006, USA Horton International today announces that they have opened new offices in Washington, DC and Newport, Rhode Island. The Washington, DC Region Office will be lead by Managing Director Frank Sharp, a veteran of the firm. Frank established the Zurich, Switzerland office of Horton International in 1994. For eleven years in Europe, he helped international companies to develop their leaders, build effective teams, recruit strategic talent, and implement successful M&A transactions. Gary Lineberry will serve as Managing Director of the firm’s new office in Newport, Rhode Island. He is involved in senior level executive search engagements in the Global Financial Services Practice, with a specialization in Insurance and Pension Investment Management. Prior to joining Horton International, Gary spent more than 20 years in senior management positions in the Financial Services industry. His expertise includes distribution, marketing, product development, strategic partnerships, and mergers and acquisitions, in addition to executive selection.

Horton International Attends Farnborough International Airshow

July 2006, London Horton International attended the world famous biennial Farnborough International Airshow this month. Farnborough is the biggest, most internationally attended aerospace event in the world – a globally renowned showcase of aerospace equipment and technology. Apart from the many thousands of public spectators, nearly 1500 exhibitors from the aerospace industry were present. On display, were some of the latest and most interesting technology and products on display for the thousands of trade visitors that attended.

A New Era for Horton International

April 2006, London Horton International revealed a newly elected Board at its annual global partnership meeting held in Paris in April 2006 including two members of the London office. Charles Taylor was elected as a Shareholder Director and John Slater takes up the reigns as Regional Director (Europe). The election of the Board marked the formal commencement of a new global structure for the group following a substantial period of review and planning. China, Denmark, Finland and Sweden were welcomed as new shareholding partners of the group company, joining the seven founding shareholders - US, UK, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Australia. With eleven other associate and ordinary partners in the group, Horton International is developing plans to extend its reach to all the major cities of the world. Robin Billen, the new global Chairman, closed the meeting saying; 'It is an exciting time for our group. Horton International Accepted as Partner of Royal Aeronautical Society

February 2006, London The London office of Horton International is proud to have been initiated as a Corporate Partner of the distinguished Royal Aeronautical Society on 1 February 2006. David Longbottom joins the Advisory Board of Horton International’s London Office

January 2006, London Horton International is delighted to announce that David Longbottom has joined the Advisory Board of Horton International’s London office. Prior to joining the Advisory Board, David was Group Director of Human Resources for the Dixons Group plc, a position he held from 2002. David is now the Senior Independent Director of Luminar Leisure and Non Executive Director of Flybe; he is Chairman of the Remuneration Committee in both companies. He is also an Independent Director of London South Bank University, an Associate Member of the Royal College of Science, and a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Personnel and Development.

Horton International Attends Defence Systems and Equipment International (DSEi 2005)

September 2005, London Horton International attended the Defence Systems and Equipment International (DSEi 2005) exhibition in London’s Docklands this month. DSEi 2005 saw growth of 25%, thus cementing its position as the world’s fastest growing defence show, attracting 25,000 defence professionals who visited 1201 international and UK exhibitors at the state of the art ExCel venue. Every element of the supply chain was represented at DSEi – from the international primes down to small engineering companies; from major manufacturing enterprises to systems integrators to service providers.

Paul Butterworth joins the London Office of Horton International

August 2005, London Horton International is delighted to announce that Paul Butterworth has joined the London office as a Consultant. Paul joins to strengthen the Defence & Aerospace Practice in particular, but also handles assignments in Retail and Technology. His move to Horton International follows a prestigious career as an officer in the UK’s Royal Navy, where as Aide-de-Camp to the Commander-in-Chief of the Fleet he operated at the highest levels of the international defence community and he then subsequently commanded two warships; one of which was engaged in anti-terrorist activity in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Martin Hird joins the Advisory Board of Horton International’s London Office

July 2005, London Horton International is delighted to announce that Martin Hird has joined the Advisory Board of Horton International’s London office. Martin has held a range of managerial and educational roles. Following graduation and initial employment with the Dunlop Group he entered higher education becoming Dean of the business faculty at Humberside Polytechnic whilst also operating an OD/Development consultancy. From 1988 - 2005 he worked for BAe Systems, McLaren Group and Royal Mail in a series of HR Director roles which included responsibility for senior level talent management and leadership development. Martin advises on leadership and talent management issues.

Horton International's European Partners Meet In Milan

October 2004, Milan Horton International held its bi-annual European Partner's meeting in Milan with additional representation from the firm's Americas and Asia-Pacific Regional coordinators. Horton International is a global executive search firm with offices in 27 countries providing retained search and management consulting services in-country, cross border and worldwide.

The focus of the meeting was the firm's Vision 2007- the result of an internal task force constituted earlier this year to assess the expectations of the global partners relative to revenue growth, geographic expansion and governance.

Frank Sharp, Managing Partner of the firm's office in Zurich and Task Force Leader, presented the results of the task force's efforts to the Chairman, Executive Committee and the European Partners. With unanimous endorsement of the proposed Vision 2007, the task force was given the mandate to create definitive strategic plans for final approval by the entire organization at the firm's Global Partners meeting to be held in Shanghai in May of 2005.

Horton International, LLC represents the global firm's presence in the US and coordinates regional activities in the Americas offices in Buenos Aires, Mexico City and Sao Paolo. Horton International and Williams Bridge Associates Merge their London Executive Search & Management Consultancy Practices

June 2004, London Horton International announces a merger with Williams Bridge Associates Ltd with effect from 1st June 2004. This merger strengthens the firm's market position in executive search and management consultancy by giving Horton International access to the technology and legal practices of Williams Bridge. For the Williams Bridge clientele it makes available the expertise in other areas and the extensive infrastructure of offices worldwide that make up the international footprint of the Horton Group. The new team will operate from Horton International’s existing offices in Palace Street, London, SW1E 5HX.
